You are not required to make everything from scratch like I did...you can use mine or anything out there...as long as you can transfer knowledge
The quick answer is 'just enough'
Just enough so the student can make minor mistakes but you keep the airplane in the safety envelope
Keep your fingers and feet ready but try your best to coach the student through it all
Good news: if you’ve had strong instructors, you already have a solid model for how to teach.
Bad news: if your instructors flew well but didn’t teach well, you may have some catching up to do.
Good news: if you have a strong knowledge base, becoming a CFI will be natural.
Bad news: if your instructors flew well but didn’t teach well, you will have a lot of homework outside of the airplane.
Start flying in the right seat soon after you get your private pilot
Whomever is sitting next to you explain what you are thinking & doing
If you need someone to listen to, there are plenty of friends & family that would love to fly
If you don't know anyone I know plenty of people to pair up
Take the FOI test, AGI test and IGI test
Start logging it...I wish I did from the start
Ground instruction given can not be used towards ATP Certificate but it looks great on a resume...and it will sharpen your mind
Using a CFI partner of mine
